About Me - Shereen Victoria Lee, BA (hons) LRPS, SWPP
Hi my name is Shereen and I have had a keen interest in photography since I was little. I decided that I was serious about perusing a career in the arts when I was still at school and went on to do media related subjects at Newcastle-under-Lyme College. Whilst at college I worked as an assistant at a number of weddings and really got a buzz from sharing and capturing the happiest day of people’s lives.
After college I attended the Cumbria Institute of Arts (now the University of Cumbria) in Carlisle where I attained my BA (Hons) in Editorial Photography in 2004. University gave me a real opportunity to refine my style, I discovered that I had a passion for ‘environmental portraiture’. I enjoy working with ‘real’ people in ‘real’ places rather than models in the studio.
I continued to photograph weddings throughout my studies and decided that I wanted this to be my life. Upon graduating in 2004 I set up as a professional wedding photographer in my hometown of Stoke on Trent.
I’ve photographed so many different types of weddings from the traditional big white church wedding for some blushing twenty something’s, to second marriages, civil ceremonies and in 2009 did a wedding for a lovely couple who had met in their late 70’s.
In 2006 I met my partner Richard and we married in August 2009 it was a real shock being on the other side of the fence! Although it gave me an opportunity to work with some of the wonderful suppliers whose work I have admired over the years.
Well that’s a bit about me I suppose I am a typical girl who loves everything about weddings and loves to be a part of your big day and building up a relationship with the many couples I have had the pleasure of working with.
